Our Five-Year Capital Plan includes a project to digitize our collection and make it available to the public online.  Your donation will help us complete this project, making our archives and our history more accessible for everyone.  Thank you!

The Society maintains one of the finest genealogical and historical research libraries in southern Maine.  Resources in our library and archives include Wells and Ogunquit histories, private cemetery records, vintage photographs and postcards, maps, vital records, town records going back more than 100 years, family genealogies, a list of historically significant houses and buildings in Wells, and more. There are also volumes of New England and U.S. histories as well as the York County Genealogical Library.

Our library and archives are available whenever we're open.  If you have research questions but are unable to visit, be sure to contact us.  With the assistance of Town Historian Hope Shelley, we will do our best to answer your questions.
